Dr Kevin Moriarty BSc (Hons), Ph.D., MAusIMM
Kevin has over 40 years of mining and oil exploration and development experience and 29 years of corporate experience in roles including Chairman and Managing Director of listed companies. He founded and led several companies to develop mines in Australia and Africa. He has served as director and chairman of a number of ASX listed companies guiding their restructure and relisting. He has researched deep sea sediments, cave and fossil deposits, publishing papers on climate change through time while an honorary research fellow of Flinders and the Australian National Universities.
Matthew Johnson BSc

Matthew is a Mechanical Engineer with 25 years of experience, and is the principal engineer and founder of ammjohn, a specialist industrial engineering practice. Matthew started his career in industrial construction site works, moving to a commissioning engineering role for a range of specialist German cement technology companies. During this time he built and commissioned a number of projects, which at the time were ground-breaking and at the very edge of what was considered technically feasible, thus providing an excellent basis for his role with 1414 degrees. Matthew has been the key technical driver of 1414 Degrees since 2011.
Pierre van der Merwe

Pierre is a Chartered Accountant of 25 years experience with extensive knowledge in the provision of corporate secretarial and accounting services to ASX listed companies. He also has experience as CFO and was a Partner in HLB Mann Judd, an Australasian accountancy and business advisory group.
Jonathan Whalley BSc(Hons), MSc, MBA

Jonathan has over 30 years of experience as an engineer and entrepreneur. After moving from the UK to Australia in 1994 he founded DSpace Pty Ltd and led the growth of the Company through organic expansion to a multi-million dollar Venture Capital funding round before selling to a NASDAQ listed company in 2007.
From 2008 Jonathan has been an active Angel Investor and working at CEO level in clean technology start-up companies initially Danvest Australia (formerly Windesal) a supplier of off-grid ‘Wind-Diesel’ systems, and more recently Latent Heat Storage (now 1414 Degrees) a supplier of thermal energy storage systems. Jonathan led both companies through their initial expansion through to first revenues/investors.
Robert Riebolge BE(Hons), MSc, FIEAust, CPEng
Chief Network Analyst
Robert specialises in assessing the economic integration of generation and storage assets into electricity grids. Robert undertook postgraduate work in this field and worked on numerous World Bank funded hydroelectric schemes worldwide. He has spent the past decade researching, trialling, documenting and writing on the transition of legacy electricity grids into multidirectional smart grids. Robert co-authored the report ‘Quantitative Viability Analysis of Electricity Generation from Nuclear Fuels’ prepared for the Nuclear Fuel Cycle Royal Commission held in South Australia.
Nigel Gammon BEc
Nigel has over 40 years experience as a director and stockbroker including roles with Phillips Henderson Ward-Hong Kong and Shanghai Bank, McCaughan Dyson and A.C. Goode & Co, Day Cutten and General Motors Holden. He has a Bachelor of Economics and is a former member of the Securities Institute of Australia and Australian Stock Exchange. Nigel has previously worked as a director with a number of companies in energy, IT and nano materials in their formative start up stages and is currently the director of Gestor Pty Ltd.
