On Friday night (30th November) 1414 Degrees received a Commendation in Steven Marshall’s South Australian Premier’s Awards in Energy and Mining, for the Energy Sector – Excellence in Innovation: Transformational Innovation. The Premier’s Awards in Energy and Mining recognise excellence demonstrated by leading resources and energy sector companies and organisations in the areas of diversity, working with communities, and innovation.
We are pleased to be recognised, and submitted an application for the award, meeting the below criteria:
- recognise South Australia as a place to successfully undertake innovative projects;
- demonstrate leadership in implementing leading practice;
- raise the bar for their competitors across the sector in their workplace practices and community engagement;
- implement projects that have measurable and valued impacts in the market place of ideas.
The commendation was awarded for our ‘SA Water GAS-TESS’ project which addresses the intermittency of renewable generation that constrains the amount of renewable energy that can be beneficially injected into an electricity network. The spinning inertia of 1414 Degrees TESS turbines aim to make the electricity grid more robust, lowering network stability costs and reducing cost to connect for renewable sources.
This commendation is a huge pat on the back to the whole team involved in bringing this project and technology to life.
